Collaboration.

Pembrokeshire Yarn - a localised wool project to support local farmers, ensuring they are part of the supply chain and highlighting collaboration between design and farming.

With the help of a scoping study from The Made With Wool Project we have been working closely with our partners Bristol Weaving Mill, Curlew Weavers and The Natural Fibre Company to create a yarn that can be used for some of the most traditional crafts and manufacturing here in Wales as well as using new technology and mixes to develop a Pembrokeshire Yarn. This yarn is currently being showcased with designers Monkstone Knitwear and Corgi Socks, as well as supporting back to the grass roots projects coming this Autumn 23. During this project our sister brand Awyr was born, the first Welsh Merino Base layer.

It’s a magic mix.

It all begins with the breeds. We have looked a the break down of the fibre and constructed the right weights to develop localised breed mixes to ensure they not only have an incredible hand feel but they are developed to ensure multiple uses, thus supporting our farmer co operative with a circular economy.
